A native of Saco, Philadelphia-based musician Zach Zaitlin writes and performs experimental, classically-inflected piano- and synth-based pop with an intimate and haunting singer-songwriter soul. Drawing on influences as diverse as Elliott Smith, Elton John, PJ Harvey, Bach, and Björk, Zach’s music is often soulful and expressive, sometimes rockin’, and frequently unexpected. Zach’s show at Hi-Fidelity is the first in his beloved home state of Maine in several years, after a long hiatus from active performing, and comes as he records his debut full-length album, due out summer 2025. It also coincides with the 15th anniversary of the release of his first EP, Joyeux Noël, which was also officially released in Portland.
